Something that fascinated me about the
city was how old and not Americanized it was. I feel like after being at
so many countries that try to be Americanized I just assumed Budapest would be
that way too. I loved wandering around this city with all the old buildings and
beautiful views. I really enjoyed not turning on to each street and seeing a
Starbucks or McDonalds. It was so nice to see the older side of Europe.
My favorite academic experience would be
the Hungarian Folk concert. I did not think I would enjoy the concert at all. I
thought I would be bored the whole time but I actually really enjoy it. I
thought it was so entertaining and I am glad we went because it is not anything
I would ever consider going to myself. It was very cool to watch the dancers
and musicians perform so well together. They were all so talented.
My favorite extra-curricular activity
would be going to the prettiest views of Budapest! The day we went up to the
castle we saw such gorgeous views! I loved this because when I see these views
I am just so happy and I feel like nothing else matters. Another area was the
hill by Citadella, the restaurant we had our last dinner at, those were amazing
views. I just feel so relaxed and reflective when I see views like that. I was
looking forward to seeing the Budapest views of the bridges and city ever since
Ezra showed the pictures to the class. It was worth the wait it was beautiful!
A restaurant that I would recommend
eating at would be Sphinx. It is located in the shopping mall that is walking
distance from the main train system. I never really ate at many restaurants,
Katie and I normally just go to the grocery store but we decided to treat ourselves.
It’s a very nice restaurant with good prices. I got a few drinks and a pizza;
it was very good!
